We are looking for an Accountant to work closely with our Accounting Supervisor to assist in the oversight of the accounting department’s daily operations. This position will report to the Administrator.

You will work closely with a team of accounting clerks to help manage financial functions, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations and tax audits. Our ideal candidate uses strong analytical skills to create detailed financial reports and forecasts. To succeed in this role, you should also have a problem-solving attitude and be able to manage a team.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our financial management is accurate and effective.

  • Proven work experience as an Accounting Supervisor
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g. Safe Harbour)
  • Strong computer skills, MS Excel and Access (managing spreadsheets, creating charts and using advanced formulas)
  • Solid knowledge accounting principles
  • Excellent analytical skills to manage large amounts of data
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Team management skills
  • Ability to prioritize work
  • BS degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred, but not required

Job Duties

  • Keeps cases organized by establishing and organizing files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with attorney.
  • Helps develop cases by maintaining contact with people involved in the case; scheduling depositions; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; drafting complaints; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel; generating status reports.
  • Keeps clients informed by maintaining contact; communicating case progress.
  • Maintains case costs by verifying outstanding balances with attorney, clients, and providers.
  • Supports case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials for mediation conferences; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review.
  • Enhances trial proceedings by organizing evidence; preparing exhibits; scheduling witnesses; ensuring that witnesses are ready when needed; taking courtroom notes.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.

Job Description

To be able to perform clerical tasks such as making copies of documents, distributing mail among other legal staff, moving files, mailing letters and answering the phone. At some firms, they also perform word processing tasks and data entry.

The legal runner needs a vehicle and a driver’s license, since these workers must travel to perform various errands. They must be well organized to keep track of legal documents and to operate efficiently. While legal runners often run errands, the amount of travel they do depends on the office they work for, since some legal offices are closer to other law firms and courthouses than others.

Reports to Management Committee and Firm Administrator


Under limited direction, the Marketing Director has oversight of all communications and marketing functions at the firm including, but not limited to strategic communications, integrated marketing campaigns, traditional and social media relations, all digital and print capabilities and assets, event planning, other special projects, and all related budgets. She/he strives to ensure quality brand standards, industry position and company profitability through the development and execution of comprehensive strategies and executables.

The Marketing Director serves as a business partner to the firm’s Management Committee and individual attorneys at all offices to achieve the firm’s strategic business goals and thus contribute to the sustained success of the firm. The Director collaborates with various outside entities including but not limited to: clients, co-counsel firms and attorneys, outside agencies and associations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years relevant experience with a demonstrated track record of success
  • Must be a self-starter who thrives on juggling numerous high risk, high visibility projects on tight timelines and must be unflappable under significant pressures. Must demonstrate strong ability to delegate
  • Strong working knowledge of marketing, advertising, and communications tools, strategies, tactics, and procedures
  • Must be detail oriented, organized, and a clear communicator
  • Demonstrates ability to think strategically and to align strategic and operational needs with marketing and communications
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, written skills are critical; collegial, collaborative, and team player attributes are a must
  • Strong functional knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, graphic design, website technology, SEM, SEO, analytics, public relations software, and advertising buys necessary


  • Communicate with management committee on all strategic messaging, both internal and external
  • Maintain comprehensive list of all marketing projects and deadlines
  • Draft press releases and coordinate interviews between members of the media and attorneys
  • Negotiate all traditional advertising buys – print, TV, billboard
  • Maintain all content on firm website and blog, including but not limited:
    • Attorney bio pages
    • News and verdicts
    • Blog posts
    • New litigation landing pages
    • Referral attorney landing page
    • Videos
  • Review website analytics
  • Develop referral attorney specific advertising campaigns
  • Write, edit, and manage distribution of all print materials
  • Oversee all digital advertising campaigns – SEO, PPC, Geofencing, etc.
  • Develop comprehensive advertising campaigns for new areas of litigation as needed
  • Draft TV commercial scripts, oversee production, and manage rotation of commercials
  • Submit all advertising to State Bar Advertising Review Committee and correspond with State Bar on changes/approvals
  • Nominate attorneys/firm for all applicable awards
  • Serve as primary liaison to outside vendors
  • Communicate with union liaison as needed for firm involvement in events
  • Monitor the use of the firm’s name, brand, and likeness internally and externally
  • Manage the marketing budget, oversee all expenditures, and submit all marketing invoices to accounting
  • Review all monthly marketing reports from vendors and compile monthly report for partners
  • Write annual year-end report for equity partners

Working Hours

Work may require travel. May require 24/7 access to attorneys and media during special projects. Overtime is possible and may be expected in order to perform the essential functions of the position.
