Job Summary

Performs specialized legal secretarial, clerical, and administrative tasks under the general supervision of an attorney.

Job Type

Full-Time

You will be working directly under an experienced attorney, with direct client contact. Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist, draft, and review legal documents such as motions, complaints, and other litigation related documents in strict confidence
  • Maintain a high-volume of client files from start to finish
  • Meticulously organize and maintain all case files and documentation in a paper or electronic filing system
  • Assist with trial preparation and maintain calendars
  • Communicate with clients, witnesses, lawyers, administrative staff, and other contacts
  • Proactively monitor case workflow and client file status reports and related deadlines
  • Compile and file documents electronically and/or in-person
  • Create and/or maintain records, spreadsheets, and files
  • Responsible for managing all day-to-day legal casework
  • Coordinate all correspondence and logistics necessary
  • Complete administrative duties
  • Any other duties assigned

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to be exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
  • Efficiently time manage tasks to meet various deadlines
  • Desire to learn and develop personally and professionally
  • Plan, organize, and carry out multiple, related activities
  • Ability to use technology effectively to improve processes and work product
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Able to take direction and work independently
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required

Preferred Qualifications and Skills 

  • Bilingual in English/Vietnamese or English/Spanish
  • Personal injury - plaintiff’s side – experience
  • Associate’s degree in Paralegal Studies
