​On July 26, 2017 KFDM’s Angel San Juan aired his investigative story about the Nederland Clinic, Optimum Medical Weight Control and Family Wellness. San Juan’s story featured an interview with Provost Umphrey’s Christopher Kirchmer, the attorney representing two families hoping to sue Optimum.

A University of Texas School of Law graduate, Chris Kirchmer focuses primarily on pharmaceutical and medical device product liability law. Most recently, Kirchmer was named to the Plaintiffs Steering Committee for the Cook Medical IVC Filter litigation, as well as the Plaintiffs Leadership Counsel for the Bard IVC Filter litigation.

Christopher T. Kirchmer was named to the Plaintiffs Steering Committee (PSC) for the Cook Medical IVC filter litigation by Judge Tim A. Baker on December 3, 2015. This is the second PSC appointment for Kirchmer in regards to IVC filter litigation, as he was named to the Plaintiffs Leadership Counsel for the Bard IVC filter litigation in October 2015.

Christopher T. Kirchmer was named to the Plaintiffs Leadership Counsel (PLC) for the Bard IVC filter litigation by Judge David G. Campbell on October 30, 2015. Kirchmer joins a select group of attorneys from across the country who were appointed to serve on the committee for the Multi-District Litigation (MDL).
