Provost Umphrey Remembers Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a Day of Service

In 1983, Congress passed legislation that designated MLK Day to be a federal holiday and a national day of service. It is considered a “day on, not a day off”. Every MLK Day, Provost Umphrey staff and attorneys volunteer their time to local non-profits and organizations in an effort to move closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “beloved community”.
