The Supreme Court of Virginia granted Provost Umphrey’s petition to review a $4.2 million jury verdict. Edward Fisher obtained the verdict in March 2016 on behalf of Ronda Maddox Evans against NAACO Materials and Handling Group. Evans was the widow of Jerry Evans, who was killed in a workplace accident.
The trial judge reversed the verdict shortly after the trial, and Fisher appealed the decision to the Supreme Court.
“I am very pleased that the Supreme Court of Virginia has agreed to hear this case. This is one step closer to bringing the Evans family the closure they deserve,” says Edward Fisher.
