Provost Umphrey Law Firm, LLP would like to extend its compliments to Fabiana Baum
and Taylor Thompson for being promoted to non-equity partners. Attorneys start their journey as associates before being offered a non-equity partnership.
Thompson graduated from Baylor University School of Law. He started working at the firm in 2016 and was admitted to the bar in 2017. Thompson specializes in personal injury and was co-lead counsel on an 18-wheeler case that resulted in a multimillion-dollar settlement. Thompson was also part of a trial team responsible for obtaining the highest premises liability verdict in Texas 2018.
Thompson coaches Beaumont’s Kelly High School mock trial team and serves on the board of directors for the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association (JCYLA).
Baum, US citizen raised in Brazil, obtained her law degree from the University of Houston Law Center. She was admitted to the bar in 2016, and in 2017, started her tenure at Provost Umphrey Law Firm, LLP. Baum practices personal injury law and was lead counsel in two six-figure car accident settlements in 2020. She was recently recognized as Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch.
Baum speaks Portuguese, English, Spanish, and Italian. She is also a board member of Southeast Texas’s Hispanic Proactive Coalition (HPAC), and a member of the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC), the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
