NASHVILLE,
Tennessee – The publishers of Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers magazine
have named Provost Umphrey attorney W. Michael Hamilton to the 2018 list of
top lawyers in the Mid-South, a designation he has earned annually since 2014.
Mr. Hamilton heads the Nashville office of
Provost Umphrey L.L.P. and primarily focuses on legal issues related to
employee benefits, which earned him the Super Lawyers honors. He also handles
plaintiffs’ personal injury and civil litigation. His clients include
whistleblowers alleging government fraud and consumers in class actions, as
well as product liability claims and matters involving the Fair Labor Standards
and False Claims Acts.

Mr.
Hamilton is currently representing VA nurse practioners and physician
assistants involved in an unpaid overtime lawsuit, a case that received
class-action status this year. In another notable success, he secured a $5.8
million verdict on behalf of Tyson Foods employees in a back-pay compensation
lawsuit and defeated a motion for a new trial. The case went all the way to the
U.S. Supreme Court, where the justices upheld the lower court decision for the
employees.
