Posted on Tuesday, April 26, 2016

Jacqueline Ryall has been with Provost Umphrey for 7 years. Before attending law school at South Texas School of Law in Houston, Jackie was a registered nurse. Her medical knowledge benefits her law practice in the areas of medical malpractice, general litigation and personal injury litigation.

  • What made you want to become a lawyer? I was a registered nurse first and always liked working with and helping people, but wanted to further my education. I thought that by being an attorney I could still do that but from a different perspective.
  • Why did you decide to focus on personal injury law? Again, I like to work with and help people. The first half of my career was in defense and being on the plaintiff’s side is much more rewarding for me and seems more natural to who I am.
  • What do you do for fun? Hang out with my family, run, garden and paint.
  • Where did you grow up? Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chagrin Falls, Ohio.
  • What is your favorite place in Southeast Texas? My backyard.
  • What is your proudest moment? Watching my two children grow into amazing adults.
  • What is your favorite movie? To Kill A Mockingbird
  • If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? Candy, preferably dark chocolate.
  • What goals do you have for yourself for the next five years? I just accomplished one by running my first half marathon. I came in third for my age group. My other goals in the next 5 years are to get my children through their education process and to travel a bit if I have any money left over.
  • What is one destination in the world that is on your travel bucket list? Israel
  • What do you think sets Provost Umphrey apart from other law firms? The people
