  1. What made you become a lawyer? My father was an attorney and I saw how he was able to help so many people.
  2. Why did you decide to focus on personal injury law? Both my Grandfathers passed away from asbestos-related lung cancer.
  3. What do you do for fun? Coach or assist in coaching my kids sporting teams, hunt, swim, and hang out with friends.
  4. Where did you grow up? Port Neches
  5. What is your favorite place in Southeast Texas? Anywhere with my family and friends.
  6. What is your proudest moment? Personally, my marriage and my kids are my proudest moments. Professionally, it was my first big recovery which was for a mesothelioma victim in his 50’s against his Jones Act Seaman employer.
  7. What is your favorite movie? The Godfather
  8. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I have quite a few comfort foods like fried chicken or chicken fried steak, but if forced to choose, it would be Gumbo.
  9. What goals do you have for yourself for the next five years? Continue working as hard as I can for my clients and enjoy the time I have with my kids at home. They are only 7 and 9 years old, but just the other day we were talking about how the 9 year old is already half way through his time at home. How time flies.
  10. What is one destination in the world that is on your travel bucket list? I would like to go to Italy with my wife and friends.
  11. What do you think sets Provost Umphrey apart from other Law Firms? We have the resources to go against any defendant, but the small family atmosphere.
