Shortly after midnight on Sunday, emergency responders were called out to an accident near FM 1942, just outside of Mont Belvieu. Two linemen were working on a high-voltage transmission line when the incident occurred.

According to reports, the men were inside a metal lift basket attached to the jib of a crane when the basket suddenly became unstable. The basket then separated from the crane and plummeted approximately 106 feet to the ground.

One lineman was announced dead at the scene and the other was flown to Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Provost Umphrey equity partner, Matthew Matheny, is currently representing two linemen involved in similar on the job incidents that resulted in severe injuries.
