James Mehaffy is a former three term Judge of the 58th District Civil Court in Beaumont, Texas. Before that he practiced personal injury law on both sides of the docket in Jefferson County Texas for 29 years. He has literally tried hundreds of cases involving personal injury and death.
Judge Mehaffy has been Board Certified in the area of Personal Injury Trial Law since board certification became available in 1978.
Judge Mehaffy continues to be very active in Bar functions at the local and state level; he is a frequent lecturer on legal subjects and has written numerous articles.
Judge Mehaffy speaks, reads, and writes Spanish. He and his wife have four children.
