Joe J. Fisher II, was born in Austin, Texas, graduated from Southwestern University with a B.B. in Business in 1990. Joe received his law degree from the University of Houston School of Law in 1993. While attending law school, Joe clerked for a nationally recognized plaintiff firm. He is licensed to practice before the state courts in Texas as well as the District Courts of the Eastern and Southern Districts and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 1993, upon graduation from law school, Joe went to work as an associate with Provost & Umphrey Law Firm L.L.P. Joe was made an equity partner at the age of 32. He became Board Certified in the area of personal injury law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2001.
In 2003, Joe was featured in Texas Lawyer magazine in it's "40 under 40" article. This article showcased 40 lawyers under the age of 40 who had excelled in their respective fields. Joe was selected for inclusion in 2008 and 2009 Texas Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters Business Texas Monthly Magazine. Joe is a member of the State Bar of Texas; the Jefferson County Bar Association; and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.
Joe is also active in his community. He is currently on the board of Girls Haven, a charitable organization that provides housing, supervision, counseling and life's daily needs for young women and girls whose family situation requires that they live outside their homes either temporarily, or permanently. Joe also serves on the Board of Directors for the Erhart School in Beaumont, Texas. This is a charter school that serves as an alternative to public or private school for children from kindergarten through 8th grade.
