Bryan O. Blevins Jr.
Bryan O. Blevins, Jr. is a graduate of Baylor Law School and a partner in the law firm of Provost Umphrey of Beaumont, Texas. He has been responsible for asbestos litigation, negotiation and administration since 1995. Provost Umphrey represents approximately 15,000 plaintiffs in asbestos litigation nationwide. Mr. Blevins manages Provost Umphrey's trial dockets for both manufacturers and premise cases in Jefferson, Orange, Harris and Nueces Counties in Texas.
Mr. Blevins was born in Lufkin, Texas; Graduated from Southern Methodist University (1987), Baylor Law School (1990) and was admitted to the Bar in 1990. He is licensed to practice before all Texas Courts and the U.S. Supreme Court; U. S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals; U.S. District Court of the Eastern Division of Texas. In 1995 Mr. Blevins achieved Board Certification Personal Injury Law - from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas; Jefferson County Bar Association; Texas Trial Lawyers Association; Southeast Texas Trial Lawyers Association and Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit.
Mr. Blevins serves, individually or through clients, on the following asbestos bankruptcies; Pittsburgh Corning Asbestos Creditors Committee and Trust Advisory Committee; AC&S Asbestos Creditors Committee; Asarco Asbestos Creditors Committee; Shook & Fletcher Asbestos Creditors Committee and Trust Advisory Committee; Claimants representative, Asbestos Creditors Committee and Trust Advisory Committee for the J.T. Thorpe Bankruptcy and the Asbestos Creditors Committee for Congoleum. He also participates in asbestos and silica Ad Hoc Committee groups involving the A.P. Green, Narco, GIT, Mid Valley and Kaiser bankruptcies. Most recently, Mr. Blevins was invited to join the liaison committee advising judge Mark Davidson, statewide MDL judge for Texas, on asbestos litigation in Texas.
In his twenty one (21) year career at Provost Umphrey, he has represented individuals in a wide array of personal injury and civil litigation, including other toxic torts, industrial accidents, class actions, medical products and contract actions. Mr. Blevins is a regular speaker at asbestos seminars and has testified numerous times before the Texas Legislature on matters concerning the Civil Justice System. Mr. Blevins has been selected for inclusion in Texas Super Lawyers every year since 2003 (2003-2010), a Thomson Reuters service published by Texas Monthly magazine.
